Sony has published a new video showcasing this year's Star Wars Battlefront II, which is set to release on November 17, 2017.
Varsio is the main protagonist of the game, a story told through the eyes of a strong and loyal soldier of the Empire.
According to Blank, they had always been in talks with EA for the gaming arm of Star Wars, and the goal was to create stories that would explore the events between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 will, unlike the 2015 game, actually have a single player campaign, and this is something that EA and DICE are actually focusing on a lot in the game's marketing.
Coming into Battlefront 2, game director Mark Thompson states the team at EA and Lucasfilm knew that they wanted to tell a soldier's story.
"In the leadup to The Force Awakens, we had started to develop a series of new stories that were starting to fill in some of that gap in time". You get great visuals in a comic, but with the novels you don't get a great visual element. "One of the great things that they included too was like, 'we want to do it from an Imperial point of view, because it hasn't really been done-at least not in that fidelity before". "So they sold us from day one on that idea, and we put our nose to the grindstone - working on all the details of what that would become". The Empire, of course, have traditionally served as the bad guys of the Star Wars mythos, and that's a tough perception to turn around.
