The alleged feud between Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato may really be over (despite a brief run-in at the L.A. Women's March). "It helps to know that recovery is possible and it's something that is so important to certain people like myself".
Now, she's using her experience and wisdom to support other celebs who have chosen sobriety, including Brad Pitt and Miley Cyrus.
The 24-year-old singer announced during an interview published earlier this month that she was three weeks clean from smoking the addictive drug.
Lovato, who earlier celebrated the five-year anniversary of her own sobriety following drug and alcohol issues, is pleased that Cyrus has also made a decision to give up using drugs.
"So grateful. It's been quite the journey. I just decided not to (smoke marijuana) anymore and now it's easy for me", she proudly shared. "Everyone goes through ups and downs and I'm getting to write about that". "I like to surround myself with people that make me want to get better, more evolved, open". And while Miley's path to sobriety is different than Demi's, it's always helpful to have people supporting you, which Demi made clear in her most recent sobriety anniversary post. And I was noticing, it's not the people that are stoned. And truthfully I could drink a Russian under the table with his own vodka.
She continued, "I wouldn't be alive without my sobriety, and the people that are sober today in this industry, I commend them a lot. But even in day-to-day life, no matter whether you are from the middle of nowhere or you live in a big city, addiction doesn't discriminate, so whenever you are able to take control back, it's really admirable".
