WASHINGTON -? Wizards forward Kelly Oubre says "reoccurring events" of being hit in the head caused the outburst that got him ejected from Thursday's Game 3 win over the Boston Celtics.

Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, center, goes to the basket between Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley (0) and Boston Celtics center Al Horford, left, of Dominican Republic, during the first half in Game 4 of a second-round NBA basketball playoff series, Sunday, May 7, 2017, in Washington.

Green wound up in agreement with Wizards owner Ted Leonsis, who wore an Oubre jersey to Sunday's game and defended his player in an interview with CSN.

The incident came during the second quarter of Game 3 on Thursday after Olynyk had set a screen that sent Oubre to the court.

Kelly Olynyk has a PR problem. Referees and teammates charged to break up the conflict as the Wizards shooting guard still wanted to get his hands on the Celtics' big man.

Green's kick on Steven Adams last season.

HOUSTON - Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge scored 26 points apiece to help San Antonio, now without Tony Parker, beat Houston to take a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference semifinals. After Washington put the defensive clamps on him starting in Game 3, he was unable to help the Celtics in another manner.

"Whatever bad blood we've had in the season, it's carried over to the playoffs", Thomas said, per ESPN's Chris Forsberg. Bojan Bogdanovic, who is expected to take many of Oubre's minutes, also acknowledged the challenge of what's ahead.

"I'm not surprised", Oubre said after practice Saturday. He was tossed from Game 3 for charging and knocking over Kelly Olynyk. "He had wide-open looks and they made an adjustment and I think we did a good job of figuring that out". I don't know why he reacted like that. "That's the mindset I felt like all of us had". It's going to be tough, but if he hits some tough shots, then you just going to have to live with that. "I can't be allowed to be held and grabbed every pin-down, every screen and I don't even shoot one free throw".

"We don't like them and they don't like us". I'm standing by that prediction despite what I " m about to tell you. "I'm not saying that that was the right thing to do". He has picked up 13 technical fouls this season and missed game 5 of the NBA Finals previous year after getting called for 7 technical fouls in the post-season.
