The parents of Zachary Bowlin, a student at Edgewood Middle School, received the 10-day suspension notice Thursday, which accused Zachary of "liking a post on social media that indicated potential school violence", a local Fox affiliate reported.

The picture - believed to have been uploaded by a fellow student - showed an airsoft, or BB, gun together with the caption "ready".

The story of an OH 7 grader recently suspended from school for 10 days for "liking" a picture of a firearm on social media is another reminder that anti-2 Amendment hysteria is alive and well.

"I liked it, scrolling down Instagram at night about 7, 8 o'clock, I liked it", Zachary said.

"I don't think I did anything wrong", Zachary said. "[The] next morning, they called me down and, like, patted me down and checked me for weapons".

I don't remember anyone even getting in trouble for their cell phones since they were so new for the average Joe. "He never shared, he never commented, never made a threatening post, anything on the site - just liked it".

School administrators agreed to lift the suspension after speaking with Zachary's parents.

"I was livid, "Zachary's father Marty said".

Edgewood City Schools Superintendent Russ Fussnecker said the district has "zero tolerance" of violent, disruptive, harassing, bullying or inappropriate behavior on behalf of students - including while off school grounds if it potentially impacts the classroom.

The policy also applies to students acting off school property "when the misbehavior adversely affects the educational process". In an email the school wrote: "Yesterday evening school officials were made aware to an alleged threat of a student bringing a gun to school". We act on any potential threat to student safety swiftly and with the utmost importance.

An Ohio teen was suspended from school for clicking "Like" on a social media posting showing a handgun and the word "Ready". This morning, the alleged threat was addressed and we can assure you that all students at Edgewood Middle School are safe and school will continue as normal.
