The Wichita Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/2n4NUIQ) the incident happened Saturday night around 8 at the Lamp Lighter Mobile Home Park on the south side of the city.
The suspect came out of a mobile home with a gun and police released a police K-9.
A man who was shot by police Saturday and later died had drawn a gun and was turning toward officers when he was shot, according to a statement from Wichita police. The suspect, who had a firearm, then went to go back inside. When they arrived, they found the armed suspect trying to escape.
Police said the man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
Police said officers were initially called because of a domestic disturbance. In a statement, the department said he will be greatly missed by all.
Wichita Police posted on Facebook that Rooster served on the force for five years before dying in the line of duty. "As he was running, the father fired several shots, striking and killing his son", said Ojile. According to arrest sheets, he has been identified as 41-year-old Glen Farrow.
