A two-year-old boy has died after being recovered from a river.
The toddler had been reported missing from a home in the Milton of Drimmie, Perthshire at around 11.15am on Sunday.
The Police Scotland helicopter and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service personnel were involved in a full search of the area along with police officers.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the boy's family, who officers are supporting at this hard time".
Scottish Member of Parliament for Perthshire North, John Swinney, expressed his condolences online, tweeting: "Heartbreaking news from the River Ericht at Bridge of Cally".
Police, firefighters and ambulance crews rushed to the remote site near Bridge of Cally after being told of his disappearance.
"The River Ericht is fast, the rivers are all fast coming down through that area, particularly at this time of year", she added.
