Arsenal star Granit Xhaka quizzed over alleged racist abuse at Heathrow airport

The Independent reported that a witness said the 24-year-old Switzerland global had racially abused a member of staff in German.

The alleged incident happened at Terminal 5 yesterday evening with claims the Switzerland global racially abused a member of British Airways check-in staff. He voluntarily attended a west London police station where he was interviewed under caution.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been questioned by Police following accusations of racist abuse towards a member of staff at the Heathrow airport on Monday, per The Telegraph.

"The allegation was made by a third party". Police were called to the incident and the player was interviewed under caution although a statement released by airport security explains that Xhaka was not placed under arrest.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police told the BBC: "Police were called at 19:29 GMT on Monday, 23 January following an allegation that a member of staff had been racially abused at Heathrow Airport, Terminal Five".

When Arsenal were asked about the incident by the journal, the club replied; "this is a private and police matter".
