A north Alabama police department is asking the public to help identify a man accused of robbing at gunpoint a convenience store.
Ames Police are investigating two armed robberies that may have carried out by the same person. The store clerk told police a man entered the store, showed a handgun and demanded money, according to an Ames police news release.
When officers arrived, the clerk told officers she working in the store when she heard someone come in, Police Chief Floyd Johnson said. Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect, according to the news release. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running east from the store. Iowa State University police assisted with responding to the robberies Friday morning.
