Legendary actor Dilip Kumar was discharged from hospital today after being admitted there earlier this month following a swelling in his right leg.
"Dilip Kumar got discharged today around 2.30 p.m". The thespian, who turned 94 on December 11, celebrated a quiet birthday in the hospital itself along with his wife Saira Banu. "He is above 93, so we need to take extra precaution hence we had kept him in ICU for observation", said Dr Shankaran. He will be resting at home.
Dilip Kumar was escorted to his vehicle on a stretcher while his actress wife Saira Banu was standing by his side. He will be in the hospital for a couple of days more.
The actor responded well to the treatment and was admitted in the ICU and, later on, was shifted in a ward for two days.
Kumar was admitted to Lilavati hospital in suburban Bandra on December 6. He was last seen on-screen in film "Qila" in 1998. "Your prayers are with me", added Mr Kumar.
