About 40 commandos raided a room at the Royal Garden Home Hotel in Soi Nana yesterday evening and arrested Abdul Rehman alias Bhola, 46, who was staying alone in the room.

Key Baldia factory fire suspect Rehman Bhola arrested in Bangkok was posted in National of TheNews International - on December 03, 2016 and was last updated on December 03, 2016. He was a sector in-charge of the MQM at the time of the Baldia fire. They collected clothes, documents and cigarette butts for further examination.

The fire at the Ali Enterprises factory in September 2012 was one of Pakistan's worst industrial disasters.

Pakistani authorities concluded the attack was arson and linked it to the suspect.

Police had filed the supplementary charge sheet in August under the anti-terrorism law following a lengthy reinvestigation of the case.

According to the police investigation in Pakistan, Abdul Rehman was part of a criminal group in that country.

Initially, the police had charge-sheeted the owners and some employees of the factory in the tragic incident.

The gang burned down the factory when the owners refused to pay seven million baht ($200,000), he said. However, police contended that incriminating evidence was available only against the two proposed accused. He rubbished media reports of Bhola being a part of PSP on the basis of PSP's membership form showing Bhola, a member of PSP. But PSP chief denied this claim. "Anyone can download and fill the party form off the internet", Kamal told reporters upon arriving in Lahore.

Rahman was arrested in Bangkok by Interpol, it was learnt.
