It was not easy to watch.
SEATTLE (AP) - One after another, key players for Philadelphia and Seattle hobbled to the sideline on Sunday with injuries that could impact the teams beyond the Seahawks' 26-15 victory over the Eagles.
He committed a penalty that negated a touchdown.
(At) Washington 42, Green Bay 24: Kirk Cousins (Michigan State) went deep late and often, throwing for 375 yards and three touchdowns to lead Washington past free-falling Green Bay.
Agholor was already struggling terribly. "They doubted my arm ability, they doubted I could make the throw, so I'm glad I got to prove them wrong", Baldwin said with a grin. I got to go out there and (just) try to catch the ball. because I'm thinking too much and got so anxious. "I'm anxious about so many things". I can feel his passion and his energy that he's playing with. Despite leaving some points on the field in the kicking game, the Seahawks otherwise executed in every possible way. But through three quarters, the duo had exactly two catches for 15 yards, the same amount of yards as Wilson had on his TD catch.
The self-torment of Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor was there for everyone to see Sunday.
Defensively, Seattle for the second consecutive week received a spark from Kam Chancellor, who skied for one of two Carson Wentz interceptions and tipped another pass on third down while blitzing. The PAT would have given the Eagles a 14-13 lead. It's a whole other level when you can't even line up properly.
Wentz made some rookie mistakes, which is to be expected, but even head coach Doug Pederson seemed to be upset with Wentz's decision-making and lack of vision at the end of the first half.
"He just looked at me and laughed", Baldwin said. But I was just focused on what the coverage was, and I just didn't do it.
The Eagles gave up plenty of big plays on Sunday both on the ground and in the air. "I know better than that and I shouldn't have done that". He just made the plays that he needed to make.
Wentz put the ball right where he wanted, but it bounced off Agholor's hands to the ground.
The Eagles secondary were under duress for much of the game.
"I did it to myself", he said. So yeah, those things are signs of being undisciplined, and it's not just in this game.
But with Russell Wilson easing back toward full mobility after three early season injuries, the offense has put together back-to-back 400-plus-yard efforts (outgunning New England on the road last week). He has also passed for 304 yards per game over that stretch, averaged 9.56 yards per pass, and has completed 67 percent of his attempts. That's their most since last December 20, when they romped for 182 yards against Cleveland. The running game - which faltered after last week's terrific performance - only produced 113-yard combined. Nevertheless, what the Eagles showed on Sunday, more than anything, is that having a potential franchise quarterback doesn't and won't mean much if they can't surround him with competent teammates-competent, in its most literal definition. "I'm not mad at (Agholor) at all". "It's just something that's tough". It may not be pretty, ' " Wilson joked about Baldwin, over a play they said they'd been waiting four years to run in a game. "I hate to see him have to deal with that on a mental basis". Without their ace backfield defender, Seattle will definitely need to change up their game plan.
"I don't know who else would be above him", said Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin, who dismissively responded "I guess" when Prescott and Carr were mentioned as possibilities.
The past two weeks have indicated another second-half surge could be on the horizon for Seattle.
