Samsung this week apologized yet again for the Galaxy Note 7's tendency to spontaneously combust, and the company's decision to replace the faulty products with hardware that did the same thing. Some had joked that the thief hadn't been watching the news and was thus pretty uninformed regarding the problems with the Galaxy Note 7, while others had said that it could be a new anti-thief mechanism from Samsung themselves. With this smartphone, the tech giant hopes to recover their reputation after the unsuccessful business with the Galaxy Note 7 which damaged the company's image. The G950 variant is also said to be quite larger than this year's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones.
Apart from a new button for the phone's virtual assistant feature, the Galaxy S8 is tipped to have a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, and it was reported that the phone could have an Ultra HD edge-to-edge display.
The fiasco surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is thought to be a major reason behind this decision.
Reports of Samsung launching the phones early seem to have been dismissed as the launch refresh cycle boots back to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona end February 2017. The Galaxy S8 in the 6.2-inch form factor is expected to come with a bezel-less design, with over 90 percent screen to body ratio.
Samsung halted production of the device last month following the disastrous exploding battery fiasco.
Samsung will give 50 percent discount for the owners of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 if they will trade their handset for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8. These two new flagship devices the Samsung Galaxy J7 and J7 prime comes with some new features that we haven't seen on any Samsung Smartphone before. "We will listen to you, learn from this and act in a way that allows us to win back your trust".
The Note 5, Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge devices are all also set to receive the update SOON.
