A man has been charged in connection with another man's death in Crawford County, Indiana Saturday.

The Crawford County Sheriff's Department received a call at about 9:20 p.m. on Saturday from Steven Broughton, 24, who said a man had been hit in the head with a baseball bat.

Deputies arrived to find Broughton in the residence's front bedroom and the victim in an adjacent room deceased with blunt force trauma to the head.

The victim, 41-year-old Larry McDonnell Jr., was dead in an adjacent room from blunt force trauma to the head.

Broughton is now incarcerated in the Crawford County Jail and charged with murder.

The investigation is still ongoing, but initial reports indicate domestic violence and verbal abuse contributed to the motive, according to the Sheriff's Department.
