Associated Press said Biden's visit exemplified Washington's bid to counteract Moscow's historial sway on Serbia and maintain United States influence.

Hundreds of Serbian ultra-nationalists protested on Tuesday against U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's visit to Belgrade by chanting their support for the man he says is making the United States less safe - Donald Trump.

Trump said in a speech Monday that the country's national security requirements demanded "extreme" vetting of immigrants seeking admission to the United States, pointing to the threat of the Islamic State group and terrorist elements.

Weeks after that joint appearance Biden appeared to take a pre-emptive swipe at Clinton as he declared at a high-profile appearance in the presidential proving ground of Iowa that John Kerry, only months into the job, was "one of the best secretaries of state" in the nation's history.

Trump has been under criticism over his inflammatory remarks and policy proposals such as temporarily banning Muslims from entering the country and building a wall along the US-Mexican border.

"Hillary has forgotten more about American foreign policy than Trump and his entire team will ever understand", Mr Biden said.

Vucic thanked Biden for his support to the country's European Union path and said he hopes Serbia will manage to fulfill all its responsibilities in that regard.

The visit comes following several days of violence that has left businesses in flames and the Milwaukee police chief expressing surprise at the level of unrest.

Scranton plays a similar role in the campaign-trail stories of both Clinton and Biden, as a place where they and their families learned the value of hard work and the virtues of the golden rule.

In an interview on Fox News Channel, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker accused Clinton of "inflaming the situation" with her comments. While another said she just wants to Clinton to admit she was wrong and move on.

He'll also be meeting with law enforcement officers earlier in the afternoon. She has maintained a lead there against Trump since 2015, but the NY mogul's support began to fall off dramatically in early August. "I have been in the room with her as we jointly have with the president's leadership, sent some of these killers to the gates of hell", Biden said.

The Democratic presidential nominee has been campaigning heavily in working-class battleground states such as Pennsylvania where she is now leading Trump by a significant margin. Trump has already tapped New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to lead his transition efforts.
